If Frodo was long gone by the time Sam traveled West then why would he have bothered going there? It feels a very empty ending for him. Would he not have wanted to remain in the Shire and be buried with his wife whom he adored? Of course Appendix B doesn't definitively state that Sam passed into the West only that the tale that he did was handed down by his descendents. However I think we can take it that Sam did go there but I just don't see any reason for hin doing so other than to be reunited with Frodo for at least some time.

Upon re-listening, I actually don't think it would be inconsistent with Gil-galad "the Golden" to inherit kingship instead of Galadriel. If we go with "the Dark," then there is a thematic consistency of birthright being taken into account, but ultimately, kingship would be yeilded to the one considered most worthy by his people. Thus, the kingship that should, by birthright, have passed to Fingon's very young son was instead given to Fingon's brother who, as you said, was the only Noldorin ruler who still had any semblance of a realm. If, however, we go with Gil-galad "the Golden," then birthright takes a heavier significance in who holds the kingship. If Gil-galad is not Fingon's son then Fingon died without issue and the kingship passed to his brother Turgon when Fingon's own line ended. Galadriel is the youngest child of the youngest child of High King Finwe, so Galadriel would be quite literally the last person to whom the birthright could be passed. The birthright would have passed to her older brother Angrod before it passed to her, but once Angrod had the birthright, his son would have prior claim over his sibling. Probably a greater contradiction that "the Golden" offers is that Elrond or Elros would also both technically have a prior claim to Gil-galad "the Golden" and were either passed over because they inherited the claim through their distaff side (which *would* confirm that women couldn't inherit) or because they were so young that Gil-galad was considered a better choice, which would contradict the importance of birthright even while simultaneously establishing the importance of birthright. In either case, I'm still Team Dark all the way. Perhaps Tolkien could have persuaded me over to Team Golden if he had lived long enough to flesh out and streamline their side a bit more.

Those symbols you used at the start of each part aren't the elvish numbers. Looks like you used a Dan Smith font but didn't look into how they encoded the symbols.

This video is so painful, it’s simply a fantastic interpretation of what could have been. I’ll never understand why they chose to dilute the story and characters in such a weird way. The tone is just all wrong, it stops the whole show from being engaging. With the sort of marketing they can pull for a LotR show, an engaging story and satisfying characters would have been a money printer. It’s a depressing parallel with the Halo tv show :/

In my head Middle-Earth isn't fantasy but simply an historical record of our current Earth in an earlier age. The Shire is the UK and like northern France. Mordor is Turkey/Ottomon Empire. Gondor is Rome. Rohan is obviously Germanic etc etc
